Kayak Lake Grey
The kayaking expedition lasts about 2.5 hours and has daily departures at 08:00, 11:00 and 16:30.
At our base camp the guides will provide you with all the necessary equipment, consisting of a neoprene wetsuit, waterproof jacket and boots, poogies (kayak gloves), skirt and life jacket.
The safety briefing will take place on land, where you will learn about the kayak, paddle, route, and weather conditions. Once on board, we will sail towards the imposing east face of the glacier, always keeping a safe distance.
We will marvel at the majesty of its ice wall. Next we will head towards a meltwater waterfall fed by another of the park’s glaciers, and then to a bay where icebergs from the Grey Glacier are trapped. The presence and quantity of these depends on the glacier’s calving.
On the way back to our Bigfoot base camp, while you rest and enjoy this incredible place, your guide will offer you a snack and a hot drink.
