We meet at the Nash lodge, in the small town of Serrano, at 9:00 am At our base we meet with our clients to kit them out with all of their kayaking gear. From here, we enter Torres del Paine National park with our vehicle and kayak trailer. We head to the Pingo River area, where upon arrival, we run a 20 minute safety briefing with the clients and one of our instructors.
Once we have our kayaks on the river, we slowly launch into the Pingo rivers current, paddling upriver to reach the Grey Lake Peninsula, on which we can contemplate the immensity of the huge icebergs which litter the lake. Once we have enjoyed this photogenic and breathtaking landscape, we begin the 3 hour downriver journey.
We will stop half way at the Grey River bridge to enjoy a prepared box lunch with the clients. After lunch, we will continue paddling until we arrive at the confluence of the Serrano and Grey rivers, where we detour upriver for 20 minutes to arrive back at our base at the Nash Lodge in Serrano.
We meet our clients at 9:00am or 3:00pm at Nash lodge, in the small town of Serrano, where our guides will kit out the clients with all the necessary kayaking equipment. Once they are fully equipped, one of our instructors will run through a 20 minute safety briefing with them.
For this excursion there are two options, which depend on the weather and river conditions.The first option involves driving to the Grey River area, where we begin the excursion, taking our kayaks down to the Grey River Bay, where we paddle around and appreciate the immensity of the gigantic icebergs that surround us for two and a half hours.
The second option is a downriver adventure on the Grey River for 3 hours, passing the Grey River bridge, continuing until we reach the confluence of the Grey and Serrano Rivers, where we take an upriver detour for approximately 20 minutes to arrive at the Nash Lodge in Serrano.
This excursión begins at the Nash lodge in the small town of Serrano, as one of our instructors kits out the clients with all the necessary kayaking equipment. The Guides will also run through an explication of how to paddle safely and use all of the available equipment.
Later on, we will begin our descent of the Serrano River, until we arrive at the confluence of the Grey and Serrano Rivers. Here we can appreciate the contrast of colours between the two rivers and the sediments they carry. During the descent we can also enjoy breathtaking views of the Torres del Paine mountain range, providing the weather allows it.
We paddle downriver for one and a half hours to arrive at the Serrano Falls, where we will take a break and enjoy a comforting snack. Our return to the Nash lodge will be made via a motorboat.
